Refund and Cancellation Policy
Prepayments are collected to book drivers/vehicles for specific times periods. This removes their availability for future bookings and results in other opportunities being declined.
A ride is considered "dispatched" when it is assigned to and started by the driver. These times are logged by the dispatch system.
A deposit is required on all rides prior to dispatch. The deposit is 35% ($15 minimum) of the total fare.
Cancellation Fees:
For cancellations requested more than 72 hours prior to the original scheduled pickup time, 406 Rides will refund 100% of the payments received.*
For cancellations requested less than 72-hours hours prior to the original scheduled pickup time, the cancellation fee is 35% ($15 minimum) of the total fare.*
No refunds after the ride is dispatched.
100% refund of tips for all cancellations.*
100% refund of airport fees for all cancellations.*
*Payment processing companies (Square, Venmo, Cash App, etc.) do not refund the payment processing fees. These fees will be deducted from any refund.
Please note:
Services are considered received at the time the ride is dispatched to the driver regardless of the customer ever entering the vehicle. The full fare is due once the ride is dispatched.
Shawn Bairefoot, the owner, is the only person with the authority to offer or authorize refunds. Drivers and dispatchers DO NOT have the authority to offer or authorize refunds. Refund requests must be made with 72-hours of any cancellation by emailing admin@406rides.com .
Customers using the payment dispute process of the payment processing company (Square, Venmo, Cash App, etc.) to circumvent the enforcement of this policy may result in civil and criminal penalties in accordance to the laws of Montana. The customer will be responsible for all legal, court, and collection fees.
Customers must appeal the denial of a refund in writing to admin@406rides.com and allow 14-days for a written response before initiating the dispute process with the payment processing company.
There are many factors that can cause delays beyond the control of 406 Rides. This is a rural area and delays can compound. The driver will be considered on-time for arrivals up to 15 minutes past the scheduled time. Late arrivals are not necessarily grounds for cancellation and refund. Other factors will be considered in addition to the late arrivals such as the location, weather, road conditions, booking details, etc. Furthermore, rides that are able to be completed safely and legally before the scheduled event are not subject to refunds.
The customer is responsible for determining the appropriate pickup time to meet their needs. Any assistance, suggestion, or input provided by 406 Rides does not constitute any liability for inappropriately scheduled pickups.
406 Rides will communicate our location and keep you apprised of the situation to the best of our ability. The customer shares the responsibility of contacting the driver and/or the dispatch office with concerns. Passengers are responsible for reviewing all communications to to identify potential issues such in appropriate vehicle or incorrect times including AM vs PM.
Montana is rural and many areas have known poor/no cell phone service. No/poor cell service WILL NOT be accepted as an excuse to cancel a ride. If the rider is not at the designated pickup location, it will be considered a no call/no show. No call/show riders are NOT eligible for a refund.
Rescheduled plane/train arrivals due to changes in itinerary, no matter the circumstances, are still subject to cancellation fees.
406 Rides may attempt to confirm if prebooked services are still required by the customer and verify the details of the job order. Failure to respond to the inquiries may result in the booking being removed from the schedule until a response is received. Failure to respond to the inquiries before the job is removed from the schedule will result in forfeiture of deposit. This only applies to verifications started more than 96-hours before the event.
Customers who are belligerent/rude, destructive, violate the community standards, etc. resulting in denial of services WILL NOT be considered for a refund.
406 Rides drivers are paid a percentage of the fare based on COMPLETED rides. It is in their best interest to complete all rides. They do not receive compensation for cancelled rides.
Vehicles are GPS tracked by the camera system and the dispatch system.
The mobile phones used by the drivers are owned by the company and we have access to phone records for text and voice.
Threats of bad reviews, publicity, reporting to authorities, lawsuits, or physical harm to employees or equipment WILL NOT deter the proper enforcement of this policy.
Airport Rides:
ASAP departure rides:
ASAP rides are done on a first come, first serve basis. The the pickup time is an estimated based on the the current location and availability of vehicles.
TSA and the airlines recommend an arrival time of no less than 2 hours prior to the departure of the flight. Passengers should request an immediate pickup no later than 2 hours plus the travel time to the airport prior to the scheduled departure of the flight to avoid issues with delays and missed flights.
Passengers requesting a pickup time less than 2 hours plus the travel time to the airport prior to the scheduled departure of the flight are advised that 406rides is not responsible for missed flights or other issues due to delays. We will not refund any fare on a ride booked with inadequate time.
Passengers requesting a pickup less than 1 hour plus the travel time to the airport prior to the scheduled departure of the flight are advised they are at high risk of missing their flight. 406rides is not responsible for missed flights or other issues due to delays. We will not refund any fare on a ride booked with inadequate time.
Prebooked departure rides:
TSA and the airlines recommend an arrival time of no less than 2 hours prior to the departure of the flight. All runs to the airport for departing flights should be scheduled with a pickup time 2 hours plus the travel time to the airport prior to the scheduled departure of the flight.
Passengers scheduling a pickup time less than 2 hours plus the travel time to the airport prior to the scheduled departure of the flight are advised that 406rides is not responsible for missed flights or other issues due to delays. We will not refund any fare on a ride booked with inadequate time.
NO RIDES are to be schedule with less than 1 hour plus the travel time to the airport prior to the scheduled departure of the flight.
Exceptions:
Instances beyond the control of 406 Rides such as
mechanical failure of the vehicle
driver illness
Late or delayed flight/train creating a scheduling conflict resulting in the passenger waiting over 1 hour for the pickup.
Instances beyond the control of the passenger such as
Late or delayed flight/train creating a scheduling conflict resulting in the passenger waiting over 1 hour for the pickup.
Cancelled train/flight resulting in the termination of the entire trip.
